Blenheim is proud to announce the appointment of Teun Blom, Rachelle Mourits, and Martyn Schellekens as partners as of 1 January 2022. All three lawyers have been with Blenheim for some time and have successfully grown into the role of managing associate over the past two years. They are now ready to take the next step as partners at Blenheim.
Developing talented lawyers
Two years ago, Blenheim launched a development programme for talented senior lawyers, for whom the position of managing associate was created. In this position, ambitious senior lawyers are given the opportunity to lead a team, develop their management skills and contribute to the firm’s development. In this way, Blenheim offers lawyers aspiring to become partners a clear, comprehensive development plan. Teun, Rachelle, and Martyn have all successfully completed this programme.
Experts in their own fields
Teun Blom, Rachelle Mourits, and Martyn Schellekens have proven themselves as experts in their specific legal fields. Teun Blom will join as a Real Estate and Public Law partner, Rachelle Mourits as an Employment Law partner, and Martyn Schellekens as a Procedural Law partner – a great addition to Blenheim’s already specialised and experienced team of partners.
Teun Blom – Real Estate & Public Law partner
Teun Blom graduated from the University of Amsterdam in 2012 and has been working as a lawyer ever since. He has extensive experience in both public law and real estate law. In addition to his work as a lawyer in many proceedings in both areas of law, Teun has considerable experience as a negotiator and adviser on a wide range of issues with the Public Law and Real Estate partners, including the areas of tenancy law, construction law, real estate transactions, licensing law and the Bibob Act. As a Real Estate and Public Law partner, Teun will be a key player in Blenheim’s specialised team of real estate and public law lawyers.
Rachelle Mourits – Employment Law partner
Rachelle Mourits graduated from the University of Amsterdam in 2008. She worked as a corporate lawyer for several years before joining Blenheim’s Employment Law team in 2010. Rachelle represents both national and international employers. She advises and litigates for her clients in reorganisations, individual dismissal cases and all other aspects of (corporate) employment law. Rachelle is pragmatic, proactive and valued as a trusted sparring partner. She heads Blenheim’s Employment Law team with great enthusiasm and will continue to do so in her role as partner.
Martyn Schellekens – Procedural Law partner
Martyn Schellekens graduated from Tilburg University in 2011. He then started working as a lawyer in Sint Maarten in the Caribbean, where he gained extensive experience in a broad, dynamic civil law (litigation) firm. He also drafted and reviewed many contracts for international clients. Martyn has been with Blenheim since 2017 and was admitted to the bar in Amsterdam. Since joining Blenheim, Martyn has proven himself to be a skilled litigator and negotiator. He has been heading up the Litigation and General Contract Law department since 2020 and will continue in this role as a partner from 1 January.
Congratulations to these three individuals for their appointments to partnership of Blenheim.
